TR Burge & The Temple are a Manchester-based band. They recorded their upcoming album, also called Godache, in Berlin. It is set for release on November 6, 2026.
The band have a haunted, slightly Brian Johnstown Massacre vibe, they write gothic-inflected folk songs that feel deeply personal and slightly cinematic. Mark Lanegan is another influence worn fairly heavily, which makes sense, the band’s bassist and keyboardist was in Lanegan’s band for ten years.
At the heart of the band’s sound is the relationship between Burge’s understated vocals and acoustic guitar and Aninka Rosa’s violin and vocals. Rather than simply accompanying the songs, the violin acts almost as a second voice, adding another emotional layer to the band’s storytelling.
